A start :)

I have SO many thoughts and memories that I want to share, and I’m completely overwhelmed…

I figured that I have to start somewhere, so it might as well be here. 😉

First off, the wedding was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. So many people have commented to one or both of us about how much fun they had, or how lovely the ceremony was, or both…and each time I hear it, it makes me smile.

Knowing myself, I seriously limited my DIY projects so as not to drive myself utterly insane. One of my DIY projects was the table cards.

Rand and I decided to name our tables after famous pop culture couples. We located photos, and I glued the photos to some pretty rose-colored paper I found at JoAnn’s. I wrote the names and a corresponding table number on the back.

We tried very hard to make sure that at least one person at each table would “get” and appreciate the reference. For example, we were sure that Jen and Mark’s table was George Michael and Maeby from Arrested Development.

To make things a little more interesting, we made it into a contest! Rand and I bought a gift card from FYE and had some contest forms printed up. Our friend Thomas, the evening’s official emcee/DJ, collected the entries. I’m not sure who the winner was, but here is the complete list of answers:

Rand and I sat at our own “sweetheart” table, and decided to name our table after perhaps the most enduring couple on television…Homer and Marge Simpson! 😉
